Oasis Painters of Salt Lake City
Oasis Painters is a team of painters in South Salt Lake, not just painters who drive here. Our shop is at 2384 S West Temple, a block off State Street and a few minutes from Central Pointe Station. When we talk about painting South Salt Lake homes, we mean our own neighbors between 2100 South and 3900 South.
We paint interiors and exteriors for homeowners, landlords and townhome communities throughout the city. The homes here range from 1920s bungalows to townhomes finished last year, and we’ve learned what each one needs from a painter.
South Salt Lake incorporated in 1938, grew out of the older Millcreek, Central Park and Southgate settlements, and sits on just under seven square miles. Its housing is unusually split. Roughly a quarter of the homes are pre-1960 brick bungalows and post-war ramblers on small lots, mostly east of State Street and around Central Park. Then comes a surge since 2015: more than 2,800 units approved, mostly townhomes and apartments near Central Pointe, the S-Line and The Crossing at State and Main.
For a painter that means two playbooks. The older homes need lead-safe prep on painted wood trim, respect for bare brick, and careful work in tight yards. The newer townhomes have fiber cement, stucco and metal panel exteriors on HOA repaint cycles, and builder-grade interiors that owners are ready to upgrade.
Our interior painting work covers whole-house repaints, single rooms, ceilings, trim and doors, and the kitchen and bath refreshes that make a 1950s rambler feel current. We move and cover furniture, protect floors, patch and sand, and cut clean lines. Because we’re close, we can often fit smaller interior jobs between larger projects.
Our exterior painting follows a fixed sequence: wash, scrape and sand, repair wood, spot-prime, re-caulk, two coats of 100% acrylic. South Salt Lake sits next to the heaviest I-15 and I-80 traffic in the state and a working industrial district along West Temple and Main, so exteriors here pick up a film of soot and road grime that other neighborhoods don’t. Washing before painting is not optional on our side of town.
Only about 38 percent of South Salt Lake homes are owner-occupied, which makes this a landlord’s city as much as a homeowner’s. We work with owners of duplexes, fourplexes and small apartment buildings on both turnover painting between tenants and full exterior repaints that protect the asset.
For townhome and condo HOAs built in the last decade, we handle community-wide exterior cycles and the paperwork that comes with them, from color submittals to phased scheduling so residents know when their building is up. We also paint for the small businesses and light-commercial owners along State Street and 3300 South, scheduling around their hours. Whatever the property, you’ll find our standards in the painting companies overview and see finished work in the gallery.
Thinking about a project in South Salt Lake? Get a clear, written proposal from a local crew.
We’re locally owned and operated, not a franchise, and our name is on the door a few blocks from your house. That shows up in the work:
It starts with a free consultation at your property. We walk it together, talk color and finish, and send a written proposal covering surfaces, prep, repairs, products and schedule. No pressure and no vague allowances.
Exteriors are scheduled in the mid-April to late October window, with the dry, mild weeks of late spring and early fall the best fit. Interiors run all year, which makes winter a good time for a whole-house refresh. Our exterior painting guide covers the seasonal details for the Salt Lake Valley.
At the end we walk the job with you and fix anything you point at before we call it done. Then we’re still right down the street if you need us next year.

Yes. With most South Salt Lake housing in rental hands, turnover painting is a regular part of our schedule. Call as soon as you have a move-out date and we’ll work to have the unit ready for the next tenant.
We can. We help with color submittals, phase the work building by building, and communicate the schedule to residents. Fiber-cement, stucco and metal-panel exteriors on the newer communities each get the appropriate prep and products.
Homes from before 1978 may contain lead paint, and that’s true of a large share of the older homes east of State Street. We use lead-safe practices when disturbing old paint, with containment and careful cleanup. It’s standard on our older-home work.
South Salt Lake borders the I-15 and I-80 interchange and an active industrial district, and winter inversions settle fine particulate on everything. That grime stops paint from bonding, so we wash every exterior before prep begins.
